Speech therapy at KALINKA

Speech therapy is provided by experienced speech therapists who use modern methods and approaches to treat a wide spectrum of speech disorders.

What we work with

  • Articulation disorders (incorrect pronunciation of sounds)
  • Fluency disorders (stuttering)
  • Receptive and expressive language disorders
  • Speech delay

What therapy looks like

Therapy begins with an initial assessment of the disorder and/or communication problem, after which an individual programme is developed. Exercises are adapted to the child’s age and may include:

  • Interaction through play, pictures, books and objects to stimulate language development
  • The FORBRAIN method for improving perception and processing of one’s own speech
  • Exercises for correct pronunciation of sounds and syllables
  • Guidance for parents on practising at home

Questions

Before your first visit

When should I see a speech therapist?

If your child uses no words by 18 months, doesn't combine two words by age 2, or is hard to understand – talk to a speech therapist.

Does bilingualism cause speech delay?

No. Bilingualism on its own does not cause speech disorders. The therapist will look at your child's communication in both languages.

How many sessions will be needed?

It depends on the difficulty. After the assessment we'll tell you roughly how many and how often, and we track progress regularly.

How long is a session and what does it cost?

Sessions last 45–60 minutes. Call 072 232 363 for the current price list – we will give you all the information in advance.

Are conversations confidential?

Yes. All information is strictly confidential and handled in line with data protection law.
