Tantrums and challenging behaviour

Are your child's tantrums frequent, intense and exhausting you?

Age: 2–10 years

Behaviour is a message

Behind challenging behaviour there is often a feeling the child can’t yet express. Parent counselling gives you concrete tools – routines, boundaries and calming strategies – and play-based work helps the child recognise their emotions.

This page is informational and does not provide a diagnosis. Every child develops individually.

What you may notice

Signs worth paying attention to

  • Tantrums are frequent and long
  • The child hits, bites or throws things
  • Takes a long time to calm down
  • The behaviour also appears at kindergarten/school
  • You feel nothing works any more

A clear next step

What would the first step look like?

  1. Your observations

A conversation about age, daily life and the questions that worry you. Bring concrete examples.

  2. Professional assessment

Looking at your child's needs and recommending further assessment if needed.

  3. Support plan

Explaining the recommendations and agreeing on next steps – at the center and at home.

Parents ask

What do parents ask most?

Am I a bad parent if my child has tantrums?

No. Tantrums are part of development. Asking for support is a sign of care, not failure.
